The topical is titled, “Ye cheez badi hai Musk, Musk,” referring to the popular Bollywood song, ‘Ye cheez badi hai mast, mast.’ Alongside this, the text inside the doodle read “Share it, don’t have it Elon.”

This is not the first time the dairy giant has commented on Elon Musk and his fascination with Twitter.

Earlier this month, Amul had shared a topical on Elon Musk’s desire of buying the micro-blogging platform.

The doodle showed Musk trying to woo the Twitter blue bird to get inside a cage, with the texts reading “Elon flexes his Muskles?” and “Amul takes over bread daily.”

Health Expert Suggests Reducing Booster Dose Gap From 9 To 6 Months

Posted: 28 Apr 2022 06:19 AM PDT

New Delhi [India]: Director of Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS), Bengaluru, Dr Rakesh Mishra has called for reducing the gap for booster doses from nine to five-six months after two-doses of covid-19 vaccination, saying “it can be a good approach”.

“I think if a booster dose is made available before nine months, it will be very good. Five-six months can be a good time to give the booster doses. If we have vaccines available then we should use them,” Dr said on the matter of reducing booster dose gap.

He explained that the chances of a fourth wave in India are very less. But efforts should be to not allow the virus to spread, he added.

“Our vaccination programme has been very powerful and most eligible people have taken two doses. Children are getting their doses and many people are also taking booster doses. We had 80-90 per cent Sero survey positivity. If the fourth wave comes it will be an extraordinary situation,” he said.

“Infection will keep going up and down, a little bit with a very minimal hospital requirement. But by allowing the virus to spread, we are giving a virus a chance to bounce back on us,” Mishra said.

On recombinant variants he said, it is not much worrisome but virus has another way of making new variants.

“Recombinant variants are very common in flu. There are some confirmed cases in Australia and the US, not in India. This is not much worrisome at the moment, but this means that viruses have another way of making new variants not only simply mutation in a lineage way, but also recombinant, which is a very powerful mutational approach to generate new characters, living organisms,” he added.

China’s Baiyun Airport To Cancel Over 1,000 Flights Amid COVID

Posted: 28 Apr 2022 06:08 AM PDT

Beijing [China]: China’s Baiyun International Airport is expected to cancel about 1,100 flights on Thursday after one of the airport employees reportedly received an unclear COVID-19 PCR test result amid the surge in coronavirus cases in the country.

On Wednesday, the employee received a questionable COVID-19 test result which prompted a mass PCR testing at the airport at night, as per state-run media.

According to the VariFlight flight information provider, the airport is expected to operate about 100 flights on Thursday, with almost 90 per cent of flights cancelled.

The operation of subway stations at the airport, as well as buses en route to and from it, is also halted, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Chinese mainland reported 1,494 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 47 deaths in the past 24 hours, the National Health Commission said today.

Of these local cases, 1,292 were reported in Shanghai while the rest of the cases were reported in 16 other provincial-level regions on the mainland including 56 in Jilin, 48 in Beijing, and 46 in Zhejiang, Xinhua reported citing the commission.

The country also reported 9,791 locally transmitted asymptomatic infections of the virus in the past 24 hours, of which 9,330 local asymptomatic carriers were identified in Shanghai.

Meanwhile, as the COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread in more and more cities in China, questions are mounting over the country’s zero covid policy.

The country’s much-publicised “zero-covid” strategy that the government credited for bringing the country out of the pandemic till recently is falling apart as the rapidly mounting cases are again forcing mass lockdowns like those seen in 2020.

Pilots Use Foul Language Against Bosses Mid-Air, DGCA Orders Probe

Posted: 28 Apr 2022 05:50 AM PDT

New Delhi [India]: Disgruntled over delays in restoring their pre-COVID salaries, around seven IndiGo Airlines pilots used expletives against senior management on the radio while operating aircraft.

After being alerted about the incident by Air Traffic Control (ATC), the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered an investigation into the matter.

A senior DGCA official said that the incident happened on April 9 when a group of Indigo pilots were expressing their unhappiness over the delay in restoration of the pre-COVID salaries on 121.5 MHz frequency that is generally reserved for civilian distress or emergency use.

“Air Traffic Control (ATC) learnt about the incident and informed DGCA regarding the violation. DGCA is taking senior note of the indiscipline act as it is a violation of a fundamental part of pilots’ training. We have ordered an inquiry into the matter. If proven guilty, the pilots may lose their license,” said the official.

Notably, the 121.5 MHz frequency is used in case of distress to contact any air traffic control facility within range.

Any communication over the frequency is minutely watched and it is kept on record.

It is expected of pilots to maintain the sanctity of the emergency services.

Aviation regulators across the world are very serious about the violation or misuse of the 121.5 frequency and any such matter is dealt with a heavy fine.

A spokesperson of Indigo airlines said that the incident happened and it is under investigation by the regulator.

Alexa To Help Security Cameras Detect Human Or Package

Posted: 28 Apr 2022 05:40 AM PDT

Washington [US]: Amazon is introducing a new feature that allows Alexa to notify users if their security camera sees a person or a package.

For people using an Echo Smart Display or Fire TV, you can also automatically pull up your live video feed to see whether there’s a person or package at your video doorbell or security camera.

As per reports from The Verge, the new feature will work with video doorbells and security cameras from Ring, Google Nest, and Abode, with more brands potentially adding the ability owing to a new API from Amazon.

Amazon claimed that person detection announcements are rolling out to all Ring video doorbells and cameras, and will be soon coming to the Google Nest Cam Outdoor, Nest Cam Indoor, Nest Cam Floodlight, Nest Doorbell, Abode IOTA, and Abode Outdoor Camera.

There has also been an addition of the ‘Alexa Routine’ setup, based on the new detection features, where users are provided with features such as turning on a porch light, controlling a smart lock, or spotting a potential intruder.

To turn the feature on, one needs to have a person or package detection enabled on their compatible camera, and then go into the Alexa app and navigate to the camera or doorbell settings.

There, one can see a new section called ‘Camera Events,’ where you can enable either or both options as well as customise the settings.

First Song From Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ Released, Titled ‘Kahani’

Posted: 28 Apr 2022 04:59 AM PDT

The first song from Aamir Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is finally out and it is titled ‘Kahani’.

Recently, a video of the superstar talking about a big Kahani took the internet by storm and finally, on Thursday, the makers of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ released the first song from the film. With lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the first song ‘Kahani’ has vocals by Mohan Kannan that encapsulates the movie.

It is important to note that Aamir has chosen not to release the video of the song so that the audiences’ attention is diverted to the actual hero of the music – the music itself and the team that put these pieces together.

“I truly believe that the songs in Laal Singh Chaddha are the soul of the film and this album has some of my career’s best songs. It was a very intentional decision to put Pritam, Amitabh, the singers and technicians in the spotlight because not only do they deserve to be centre stage but also the music deserves its due credit. I can’t wait to see how audiences react to the music that the team has poured their heart and soul into,” Aamir said.

Aamir Khan’s labour of love, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is one of the highly anticipated films of the year and will be released in theatres nationwide on August 11.
‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Chaitanya Akkineni
